Conference Day 1 - Oct 11, 2023

Location: Foobar Management ehf.,  Lækjargata 2, 2nd floor, 101 Reykjavik, Iceland. (Entrance through alley from Austurstæti)

12:30 pm - 04:30 pm

Organizers: Dalal Musaed Alsayer (Kuwait University), and Megan Eardley (Princeton University)

The aim of this pedagogy workshop is to explore how new debates in the field can be effectively taught to students in different institutional contexts. Invited speakers will present new approaches to connect questions of pedagogy, research, and scholarship. Working in a multitude of locations, spanning different time periods, and across multiple languages, they will introduce critical perspectives on the intersection of architecture and environment. The workshop is scaffolded around three (3) sessions, each lasting 40 mins. Each session begins with short (5-7 mins) presentations by invited speakers followed up by a 20-minute “live brainstorming” session where participants will discuss ways in which these approaches can be integrated into syllabi. A 10-minute session will wrap up each module. Lastly, the organizers will moderate a 20-minute roundtable to conclude the workshop.
